Meadow description

Newly created floodplain hay meadow restoration project, inoculated with green hay from nearby Moor Copse. Habitat restoration still in early days, but encouraging signs, as Great Burnet, Crested Dog's Tail, Cuckooflower, Birds Foot Trefoil, Yellow Rattle, Meadowsweet, Marsh Bedstraw, Yellow Flag Iris, Purple Loosestrife and other species now present in parts. Will open to the public after 13th May 2015. Site is grazed seasonally by a conservation herd of Angus, and a late summer hay cut is taken.
